The Śmigiel Commune is located in the Kościan Region in the Greater Poland Province. It is inhabited by nearly 18 thousand people. The central town of this commune is Śmigiel, with a population of nearly 6 thousand people. You can access Śmigiel by car – the town’s bypass is a part of the E-5 Poznań – Wrocław route. Broad gauge railway is not available in the town of Śmigiel but there are two train stations in the Commune: one in Stare Bojanowo and one in Przysieka. In Śmigiel, there’s a narrow-gauge train station but today, only tourist rides are offered using this railway system. You can also access Śmigiel by bus.
Throughout the years, the history of the Śmigiel Land was created by people who left behind valuable pearls of architecture, technology as well as natural monuments. Generations of various cultures and religious beliefs lived here together. Śmigiel was not spared by fires, diseases or tragic world war incidents.

Edwarda Ignysia "Ignysiowy Laur", Śmigielski Jarmark Wielkanocny, Jesienne Spotkania Orkiestr Dętych, Międzynarodowe Spotkania Folklorystyczne.
